Designing the Maritime Single Window Experience

Designing how NEMO integrates with Fintraffic's POLO platform to support the complete port-call journey. The work brings together vessel and port-call information, maritime formalities, data import, validation, issue resolution, review, and submission into one coherent experience.

I led design as the sole designer, working alongside 3 engineers and a PM from Unikie and the product owner from Fintraffic.

My role involved

Shaped the UX direction for the NEMO–POLO integration.
Mapped the end-to-end port-call journey from dashboard to submission.
Designed the relationship between port calls, vessels, formalities, and operational statuses.

Created a scalable structure for complex, regulation-driven formalities.
Designed manual-entry, single-formality Excel, and master Excel workflows.
Defined how missing information, incorrect formats, validation issues, and incomplete drafts should behave.
